How do I enter scores during a round?

Last updated

Open the round from the Rounds tab and tap scores on the score sheet. It works like the paper card: one player per group keeps score for everyone they are walking with (their tee group), and the rest of the group just watches it update. The commissioner can enter or fix any score.

Who can enter scores?

  • Playersscore for their own tee group. If you aren't in a group for this round, the sheet tells you so.
  • Captains are players with pairing powers; they score like everyone else.
  • Commissioners can score for anyone, and are the only ones who can change a score after the card is submitted.

How does the score sheet work?

Move hole by hole. Each player has quick taps relative to par (birdie, par, bogey) and an expand control for anything else. Dots under a name show the handicap strokes that player gets on the hole, and the match status updates as you go. Side-game chips, such as closest to the pin, long drive or a snake three-putt, are tapped on the hole they happened.

How do I finish a round?

When the card is full, anyone scoring in the round can Submit scorecard. Submitting locks the round: after that only a commissioner can change a score, and the commissioner can reopen it if something was wrong.

What happens with bad cell service?

Every score you tap is saved on your phone first, then sent, with automatic retries whenever the connection comes back. You can keep scoring through a dead spot and nothing is lost. If the page reloads with no signal, the score sheet still opens from the last copy your phone kept.

Two things do need a connection at that moment: submitting or reopeninga card (you will see "No signal" and can tap again later), and seeing other groups' scores, which update live when you have signal and catch up as soon as you get it back.
